Hyundai to debut HD Radio Technology iTunes® Tagging feature on the new 2013 Santa Fe

  • What: At the 2012 New York Auto Show, Hyundai announced that the 2013 Santa Fe will be the automaker’s seventh vehicle to offer HD Radio Technology. The Santa Fe will join the Equus, Genesis Sedan, Sonata, Azera, Genesis Coupe, and Veracruz which already offer HD Radio Technology. The 2013 Santa Fe will be the first Hyundai vehicle to offer the popular iTunes® Tagging feature which allows listeners to tag songs for later preview and purchase through iTunes. The Santa Fe Sport will go on-sale late this summer.
  • HD Radio Technology is or will be available as a factory installed feature from 27 automotive brands including Acura, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Buick, Cadillac, Ford, GMC, Hyundai, Jaguar, Kia, Land Rover, Lexus, Lincoln, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, MINI USA, Porsche, Ram, Rolls-Royce, Scion, SRT (Chrysler), Subaru, Tesla, Toyota, Volkswagen and Volvo.

  • Why: Automakers are continuing to embrace HD Radio Technology at a rapid pace, offering consumers a variety of new and exciting stations in crystal-clear digital sound, including on-screen information that displays song titles and artist names, and the popular iTunes® Tagging feature which enables listeners to tag songs for later download and purchase through iTunes. The recently launched Artist Experience feature is also growing very quickly as more broadcasters are supporting the feature and automakers are launching radios that display the artist images and station logos.
  • Today, there are over 2,300 AM & FM stations broadcasting with HD Radio Technology with more than 1,350 additional digital only FM HD2/HD3 multicast channels sending new exciting programming.
